Dr. Fong, thenew treatmentmodalities
enhance treatment for headaches caused
by temporomandibular disorders (TMD),
migrainesor bruxism. Inaddition, patients
can receivecosmetic treatments to
complement everydaydental procedures.

of practice that allowsdentists anddental specialists toprovide esthetic
therapies andadjunctiveprocedures.The expanded scope of practicemakes
Albertaonly the secondprovince, afterBritishColumbia,wheredentists can
useSchedule1drugs,which includeneuromodulators likebotulinum toxin
typeA, orBOTOX
®
, and the onlyprovincewhere they canusedermal fillers.
Thenew standardof practice came into effect inFebruary2014.
