Cover Artist: Dr. Gerry Gass The cover art for this issue is a coloured pencil drawing on multimedia board of Oak Bay in Victoria, B.C., created by Dr. Gerry Gass. “I've had a lifelong interest in art but I didn't get going until a few years after dental school,” Dr. Gass told JCDA. “I had a photo of a friend from a fishing trip so I decided to try a portrait in pastel. It worked and I've been painting ever since. I do watercolour, coloured pencil and oil — anything to make a mark on paper!”Dr. Gass is a 1970 graduate of the University of Alberta. He practised in Nelson, B.C., for 12 years before enrolling in Boston University's endodontic graduate program. Dr. Gass has maintained an endodontic practice in Victoria since 1984.
