publicaffairs, represented theAssociation. JoiningDr. Philpott
at themeetingwereKristaOuthwaite, president of thePublic
HealthAgencyof Canada (PHAC), andKimElmslie, assistant
deputyminister of PHAC.
Themeetingcoveredavarietyof issues; keyamong them
were improving refugeehealthcare through the Interim
Federal HealthProgramandensuringbetter health for First
Nations and Inuit. TheHealthMinisterwelcomedCDA’s advice
on these issues. Thediscussions alsocoveredopportunities
for futurecollaborativeworkon initiatives related to sugar
reductionandantimicrobial resistance.
