The insurance industryhasdeveloped theCCDWS,
itsown software for sendingclaimson the Internet.
This is analternative to theCDAmember benefit,
the ITRANSClaimService. TheCCDWS isdistributedby
TelusHealthSolutions andAlbertaBlueCross.
In2015, your practicemanagement softwarevendor
may suggest theCCDWSas analternative to ITRANS.
TheCCDWSwill sendclaimsonly to theCDAnet carriers
andnetworks that support this software.
Dentistscanchoose touse theCDA-supplied ITRANSClaim
Service thathasall thebenefits listedunder “The ITRANS
Advantage.”Both the insurance industry’sCCDWSand
ITRANS relyon theCDADigital ID for security.When the
CDAPracticeSupport Serviceswebsite isavailable in their
province, dentists should log in tovalidate their account and
download thenewCDADigital ID toavoidanydisruption in
claimsprocessing.

Since2004, the ITRANSClaimServicehas reliably
relayedhundredsofmillionsofdental benefit
claims fromdental offices toclaimsprocessors.

If yourofficeuses ITRANSandamemberof your team
signs in to the ITRANSwebsite, theycan seeclaims
transmittedbyyouroffice in the last 30days, the
response to theclaim, andanyassociatederror
messages—useful information for troubleshooting
any issues. Adental officecanalsoviewanypended
claimsand transmitdocuments (suchasnotes
andX-rays for referrals) tootherdentistson ITRANS.

Claims inprocess
For claimsandpredeterminations that cannotbe
processed immediately, ITRANS stores themessage
for later transmission, or stores the responseuntil
youpick itup. Topickuppendedmessages, use
the “Request forOutstandingTransactions” function.
This ITRANS servicemakes it easier tomanage
unprocessed transactions, especially for carrierswho
lacka similar function.

TheHelpDesk
For years, the ITRANSHelpDeskhasbeen thefirst
call dental officesmake forhelpwithe-claims issues.
Now, support for ITRANS, CDAnet, and theCDAPractice
Support Serviceswebsiteareavailable fromone
HelpDesk, givingdentistsaccess toabroadpool of
