The BC Oral Cancer Prevention Program (BC OCPP) is a team of clinicians and scientists dedicated to the prevention of oral cancer development through improvements in detection, diagnosis and treatment. The team has enthusiastically embraced the challenge of knowledge generation and transfer of information from bench to chairside. They have chosen a multifaceted approach that links laboratory research, technology development and technology application with a clinical infrastructure that connects the community dentist with resources and referral facilities. The team hopes to improve outcomes related to this devastating disease. In this special edition of JCDA, the BC OCPP team shares its vision and experience.
