Furthermore, the successful candidate would be able to join or collaborate closely with members of the existing research themes at the Faculty of Dentistry, including Craniofacial Development and Preclinical Disease Models and Matrix Biology, Infection, Immunity, and Biomaterials Research. Several research groups in periodontics, oral biology, biomaterials and craniofacial development are currently investigating inflammatory processes in craniofacial development, tissue destruction and repair. The candidate will supervise the research of trainees at all levels including undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral. The applicant should have a strong record of independent, consistent and recent research productivity (first author or senior author) in the past three years in established journals. Evidence of previous grant or salary awards will be favourably considered. The candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and will build trust through an open, respectful and collegial approach and be an eager collaborator who can work in a highly interactive and productive manner with faculty, staff and students across the Department, Faculty and the University. The successful candidate will support the Faculty’s mandate to educate oral health professionals by teaching of foundational and oral immunology and cell physiology to DMD, dental hygiene and graduate students. Therefore, the applicant must show teaching experience and potential in these areas. The successful candidate will hold a full-time faculty appointment at UBC with salary, rank and appointment status commensurate with qualifications and experience.
