Interim Dean Appointed at University of Montreal D r. Michel Carrier was named interim dean of the faculty of dentistry at the University of Montreal (U of M) in January 2022. He is replacing Dr. Shahrokh Esfandiari, who stepped down as dean for personal reasons. Dr. Carrier has served as dean of the U of M faculty of veterinary medicine for more than 8 years and is an ophthalmologist by training. “I would like to thank Dr. Carrier for accepting the role of interim dean of the faculty of dentistry,” said Daniel Jutras, rector of the University of Montreal. “He can count on the full support of the management team to carry out his mandate.” Dr. Carrier’s term as interim dean will end in May 2023. The process for appointing an incumbent dean will be initiated within one year prior to the end of his term.
