Mireault’s research examined the effects of 3 subgroups of unilateral cleft lip and/or palate (cleft lip, cleft lip and palate, and cleft palate) on craniofacial morphology. As runner up, Mr. Mireault received a prize of $1000. “I was honoured to represent my faculty at this amazing program,” says Mireault. “It was very inspiring to meet the other contestants—the future of the profession is surely in good hands!” The CDA/DENTSPLY Student Clinician Research Program has been running in Canada since 1971 and similar events are held internationally in 36 countries.
