been evolving sinceDIACbegan
surveyingdentists19years ago.
Hereare some of thehighlights,
basedon responsesfrom roughly
1000dentists acrossCanada:
Canadiandental graduates
are taking longer to set
up theirpractices:
The
percentageof practice
ownerswho set upor buy

compared toanaverageof
42%between2007–11.

Thereare fewer solo

practitioners is 36%,
compared toanaverageof
40% for the last 7years.
Practiceswitha small

3or fewer operatorieshas
decreased from58% in1997
to31% in2015.

(anall-timehigh) compared
toanaverageof 13.7% from
2011–14.
Patientnumbersare steady:

number of patientsper day,

With supportfromDIAC, theNational
