After obtainingherMaster

degree from theUniversity
of Sherbrooke in1995, she
dedicatedher career to
givingback to thedental
professionand thegeneral
population.
Shefirst became involved
with theOrder ofDentists
ofQuebec (ODQ),where she
held thepositionof director
of professional services and
thenexecutivedirector from
1998 to2003. Shealso served
on theBoardofDirectorsof
theRoyal CollegeofDentists
of Canada (RCDC) in
2000–03.
In2003, Dr. Legaultwas
electedas amember of the
QuebecNational Assembly.
Shewouldeventually serve
asparliamentary secretary
to thenMinister ofHealth
andSocial Services
Dr. PhilippeCouillard (now
theprovince’spremier).
Dr. Legaultwas elected
president of theODQ in
2006—afirst for awoman—
and in2014, president of the
Quebec Interprofessional
Council, theofficial voice
of all professional orders
inQuebecandanadvisory
group to thegovernment.
