MeetDentStrong
To reach a wider audience, Bill and Laura have teamed up
with their son Lyle and illustrator Ron Berg to create an on-
line dental education program. The Adventures of Dent
Strong website
features a cast of dental
superheroes on a quest to help children keep their teeth
healthy and strong. The superheroes protect children from
the schemingvillain, KravenSweets, andhisBacillusBrothers
minions who constantly tempt children with sticky sweets,
treats anddrinks.
Amain featureof thewebsite is ToothTalk TV, a seriesof vid-
eo shorts that use puppets to educate children about the
importance of oral health. “Think dental education meets
Sesame Street!” says Laura, who writes scripts for the vid-
eos. The puppet talk show is hosted by a precocious little
toothnamedBabyTooth (also knownas BT),who interviews
guests about awide rangeof oral health topics.
In the first Tooth Talk TV video, BT talks with Dr. Gerald
Smith, immediate past-president of the Ontario Dental
Association (above), about the importance of dental check-
ups while fending off the troublemaking Bacillus Brothers.

before banishing the

video games. “Our goal
is tomake theAdventuresofDent Strong thebest source for
children’s dental education,” says Laura. “We’re so proud to
debut our newdental educationprogram todentists across
Canada.”
