NOHAP is acollaborative initiative
betweenoral healthcareproviders, other
healthprofessionals andpatient advocates
that aims to improveoral healthoutcomes
for Canadians.
• AnupdateonHealthCanada’sNon-
insuredHealthBenefits (NIHB) Program
showed that compliance rates for theNIHB
endodontic trial haveclimbed to83%—a
20% improvement since the trial began
in2011. Compliance rates areacritical
measure indetermining the feasibility
of removing thepredetermination
requirement for standard root canal
treatment proceduresonbicuspids and
firstmolars.
• Anadvocacy toolkit that aims to support
provincial efforts for improvingoral health
care standards in long-termcare facilities is
beingdevelopedandwill include sample
legislation.
