CDAnet is the agreement between the dental profession and the insurance carriers on the format in which the information normally found on dental claims will be forwarded to the respective carrier electronically (CDAnet formatted message).
Developed and managed by the dental profession, CDAnet makes it possible for dentists to send a patient’s insurance claim form directly to the carrier using either a telephone modem or the Internet via the ITRANS Claim Service. Because dental claims are forwarded to the respective insurance carrier electronically, patients are no longer required to send in their forms.
As of March 2012, there are over 19,700 accounts registered to CDAnet.
Address Reminder for Dental Claim Submissions
The Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association (CLHIA) would like to remind dental offices about what address should be submitted to carriers when the patient address information is not the same as the insured employee or plan member address.
Patient Relationship CodesIt has come to CDA's attention that a high volume of electronic claims are being submitted using incorrect patient relationship codes. This can cause processing delays as these claims fail both eligibility verification and automation. Please use the correct patient relationship codes.
Equitable Life Submissions
Please use the full 10-digit certificate number when submitting claims electronically to The Equitable Life Insurance Company of Canada. This certificate number can be found on the insured's wallet card.
For further information, please contact The Equitable Life Insurance Company of Canada at 1 (800) 722-6615, extension 601.
