Meetings of Voting Members
The voting members of the Association constitute the supreme authoritative body of the Association. Meetings of Voting Members, where formal business is conducted and resolutions are passed, are held at each General Assembly, which are held at least twice each year, typically in April and in November.
The April General Assembly includes the Annual General Meeting (AGM) while the one held in November includes the semi-annual meeting of Voting Members.
Extraordinary meetings of the voting members of the Association may be convened by the President or by the Board of Directors, or on the requisition of not less than one-third (1/3) of the voting members of the Association, at any time and at any place in Canada.
Duties and Responsibilities of Voting Members
The following duties and responsibilities of the Voting Members are outlined in section 8.03 of the CDA General Bylaws:
- to receive the annual report and financial statements of the Association;
- to review the President's accountability report;
- to appoint auditors;
- to approve the nominating process;
- to elect officers and members of the Board of Directors;
- to approve directional policy for the Association;
- to receive the budget and approve the annual fees;
- to approve bylaw changes, and
- to conduct such other business as may be required.
