Educational Programs
The Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada (CDAC) accreditation process requires that non-accredited programs requesting accreditation and accredited programs seeking to renew their accreditation go through an accreditation survey. Information on the accreditation application and renewal process, the length of the accreditation survey and the period of program accreditation can be found in the CDAC Guide to Accreditation (PDF 94 KB).
Educational programs preparing for the survey need to provide detailed responses to the accreditation requirements along with supporting appendices. Programs must submit their responses in Microsoft Word format. Appendices can be submitted either electronically or in print. This documentation is used by the surveyors to evaluate the program against CDAC accreditation requirements and is due 10 weeks before the date of the accreditation survey. Programs will be advised by CDAC as to the number of copies of documentation required.
For non-accredited dental hygiene programs, refer to the CDAC Guide for Application for Program Survey (PDF 112 KB) for assistance in preparing for an accreditation survey.
